    A president's pension currently is $191,300 per year, until he is 80 years
    old.
    Assuming the next president lives to age 80. Sen. McCain would receive ZERO
    pension as he would reach 80 at the end of two terms as president. Sen.
    Obama would be retired for 26 years after two terms and would receive
    $4,973,800 in pension.
    Therefore it would certainly make economic sense to elect McCain in
    November.

    What Really Happened on 9-11?

    The events of 9-11 are seared into the collective psyche of this generation.. We have all been affected by the catastrophes of that fateful day, but what really happened on 9-11?

    Some people believe an outlandish conspiracy theory involving 19 Arab hijackers who allegedly: commandeered four commercial jets with nothing more than their cunning, wit, resolve, hatred of America, and some box cutters; then proceed to fly these aircraft around US airspace unfettered for a total lapsed time of over an hour; on three of the planes, pulled stunning flight maneuvers beyond the capability of even expert pilots; and, managed to cause damage to their targets — one of which just happens to have been the most heavily defended building in the world — so extreme as to be in clear violation of several well understood laws of Physics, Chemistry, and Thermodynamics.. This amazing conspiracy theory is even more suspicious and bizarre in that it is the one proffered by the United States Government (USG) and the 9-11 Cover-Up Omission Commission.. In the 9-11 Truth Movement we call it the Official Conspiracy Theory (OCT)..

    Thankfully, despite the best efforts of the corporate-controlled media and virtually the entire US Congress, there are literally millions of people in this country and millions more around the world who do not believe that these 19 Arabs, as clever as they purportedly were, could have somehow suspended the laws of Physics on 9-11..

    Are There Competing Conspiracy Theories?

    We just observed that the official story of 9-11 is in fact a “conspiracy theory”… and a wacky one at that, one that happens to be physically impossible!
    There must be another explanation, one that doesn’t require us to rewrite most of Newtonian Physics.. There is, in fact, another explanation that is supported by the empirical evidence, the observed events of the day.. It is more than a “conspiracy theory” at this point.. It has been sufficiently verified, tested, and refined to be rightly called a “conspiracy reality”..

    True, there are competing conspiracy “theories”, but they only compete with the OCT not the conspiracy reality, as they all have anomalies, inconsistencies, improbabilities, and out right impossibilities that will keep them forever in the realm of “theory” unsupported by fact.. These conspiracy “theories” that eschew the OCT only to embrace other utter nonsense (like: planes didn’t hit the WTC, holograms and “video trickery” were used instead; the three WTC skyscrapers demolished on 9-11 were destroyed by exotic, space-based, directed energy beam weapons; a commercial jet really did hit the Pentagon) are in reality all part of a concerted COINTELPRO-style USG disinformation campaign designed to splinter and marginalize those of us who have solved the Rubik’s Cube of 9-11.. These “theories” don’t compete with what is known to be true by the vast majority of the 9-11 Truth Movement, they are deliberate and elaborate disinformation campaigns designed to make those of us who do know the truth look foolish by association..

    What Is The Real Conspiracy?

    Here is a synopsis of what the best and brightest researchers around the world have gleaned over the past five-plus years from the best evidence available:

    * yes, 9-11 was a “terrorist” attack, but it was not perpetrated by “angry Arabs”, it was a State-sponsored “inside job”, a “false flag” operation planned, executed, and covered up by elements of the USG and operatives from at least two other countries… it was the greatest act of psychological warfare ever perpetrated;

    * the alleged 19 Arab “hijackers” were “patsies”, several are still alive, several were under the care and feeding of USG operatives and were being “trained” at CIA-operated flight schools;

    * FBI field agents who discovered the plot were told by their superiors not to investigate the “suspicious Arabs in flight schools”;

    * no interceptor jets were launched in a timely manner on 9-11 because of the five to seven overlapping war games — “games” simulating a simultaneous hijacking of several planes — that were taking place on 9-11;

    * the planes that hit the Twin Towers were most likely remotely controlled to their intended targets;

    * WTC 1 and 2 (the Twin Towers) and WTC 7 were all destroyed by preplanted charges — a combination of Thermate and high-powered explosives — in controlled demolitions;

    * the Pentagon was hit by a military drone painted to look like American Airlines flight 77, possibly in combination with a cruise missile;

    * the cell-phone calls allegedly made from the “hijacked” flights were not possible with the technology available on 9-11 from the altitude and speed at which the jets were traveling, these calls were faked to help sell the OCT;

    * the fate of United flight 93 is still up for debate at this time, it seems to have been intended to hit Congress and was likely shot down by a “rogue” air force interceptor, but some reports claim it landed in Cleveland (one way or another, all passengers are dead)

    Why Kill Your Own People?

    This is the toughest part for the uninitiated to understand.. The people who planned and executed the treasonous, heinous crimes of 9-11 are largely drawn from a handful of people known as NeoCons.. Many of these are current or former members of PNAC (Project for the New American Century).. Many are disciples of Leo Strauss, a German-born, fascistic, political philosopher who taught at the University of Chicago.. Strauss thought that the average person was too stupid to decide what is in their best interest and that a ruling elite should govern all of humanity..

    Taking a long-term perspective, 9-11 was conceived as a “stepping stone” to eventually enable the creation of a New World Order (NWO), the ultimate goal of the ruling elite — one global, fascistic, police state in perpetual war against an unseen enemy… terrorism..

    There were also several short-term objectives of 9-11: to push the USA Patriot Act through a compliant and complicit Congress; to declare war on Afghanistan and Iraq; to create a “siege mentality” in the USA and around the world; to eliminate the Constitution and in doing so eliminate Constitutional Rights and civil liberties; to dramatically increase military and “security” spending; to further divide the country; to rapidly militarize local police; to set the stage for the next “9-11”; and, ultimately, to prepare for martial law..

    How Could They Keep It Secret?

    Most people assume that for insiders to have pulled off 9-11 would have taken so many people that someone would have talked by now..

    First of all, it seems likely that there were as few as roughly 140 people who were intimately involved in the details of 9-11.. On this site, you can see pictures and a short bio of the 90 people who are highly likely to be the top criminal coconspirators guilty of the planning, execution, and subsequent cover-up of the treason and mass murder that took place on 9-11..

    As far as why no one has confessed, look at it this way: everyone involved in 9-11, even those only involved in the cover-up, are guilty of crimes for which they could possibly receive a death sentence if convicted.. If that isn’t enough incentive to remain silent, I don’t know what is! How many times has a criminal ever confessed to a crime for which they were not even a suspect?! Criminals will only confess if they’re convinced they’ve been caught and they’re willing to make a deal for leniency if they reveal their cohorts..

    Furthermore, when you read the names on the list of suspected perpetrators, you’ll see right away what a tight-knit little group it is.. If there were even a shadow of a doubt about someone’s loyalty, they would not have been invited into this cabal..

    About the List of Suspected 9-11 Criminal Coconspirators

    This list was compiled after many hours of research.. Many, if not most, of the people named here were very likely criminally involved in the planning, execution, and cover-up of the crimes of 9-11 — crimes which include mass murder, accessory to mass murder, and treason.. There is a slim possibility that a few people named here should not be on this list.. If evidence surfaces that would exonerate someone named here, their name will be removed..

    Clearly, there are people who were involved who are not on this list; for instance, the people on the small team of demolition experts who actually wired WTC 1, 2, and 7 for demolition.. Expect the following: casualties in the tens, if not hundreds, of thousands; an immediate declaration of martial law; the total suspension of the constitution and all civil rights; the abolition of Congress; and the hasty coronation of George W Bush as Dictator of the Americas..

    Hey you can do your part anytime - and here is the best part: it is an excuse to go to the beach!

      Next time you are out there walking on the beach gather up the corals and sponges and put them in a calm area of the intercoastal that has reasonable water movement. Placement should be below the lowest low tide mark you know of and shallow enough that they will get sunlight. Also it is preferable to put them on or around porous rocks. Simple as that.

       Wanna be lazy, Hey just chuck 'em back in the water on the beach side - gives them a lot better chance than if you leave them to dry out.

    For People With Docks on the Water.. -->"''"-->

    Do you want to help the environment and increase the value of your property at the same time? Do you want to make your property more attractive to your family, friends and yourself? If so read on.....

           The first situation we will cover is if your dock is in use:

        Now this can be done without risking damage to your hull.

    Plant large limestone or fossilized coral rocks under your dock! You can use large enough chunks that even the biggest boat will not "Prop Wash" them out. So now you are asking "How is that going to help?"

         Simple this gives soft and hard corals a place to attach. Granted unless you populate the rocks initially with Florida ZoeAnthids, or Ricordia which can take a bit less light you are likely to be overrun with Aiptasia (Anemones) or Seasquirts or both but even those help our waterways in that they are filter feeders and attract smaller fish. Bonus Item with the rocks is that they do indeed encourage young fish to hang out and the Limestone seems to attract an inordinate number of Blennies and Gobies as well as several smaller species of Trunkfish (puffers) such as the spotted/lepoerd trunkfish and particularly Great Horned Puffers.  It is a good foundation for Corraline algea as is the fossilized coral and provides a home for all the micro-crustaceans we need to clean up the waterways with. Beneficial bacteria in the rocks will come over a short time and help feed other life in the waterways. You have just turned unused spaceunder your dock into a valid micro-reef which will be attractive to look at even when it is still in just the rock stages.

         Say your dock is in use but you have a couple of poles off to one side and you don't use any of your water space beyond the poles...... Put in a low rock wall that will remain below the lowest tides and you have your own personal mini reef to look at - the more porous the rocks and the higher they are in calcium content, the better and quicker results you will see. Now in this situation you have plenty of light available and that means that you can get as exotic as you like with the corals you plant on them - bear in mind 2 things - it is against the law to introduce a non-native species into Florida waters and secondarily, anything you plant will grow way faster than it does in your Aquarium. There are literally tons of Florida species corals available through various vendors and the propogation (growth/spread) rates vary but you can pick the ones that suit your personal tastes. Remeber - the 1 coral you plant this year is liable to be 30 or 40 or hundreds next year (depending on species).

          Now for anyone with a dock or seawall that is looking to help the environment and give something attractive to the dock or seawall, here is a really neat idea. add Acrylic, shallow tanks pumped in from the waterway and exhausting back into the waterway.

         Even just one tank with a good sand bed and some cheap porous rock such as Limestone, Fossilized Coral or even colored Man-made Lava Rock; When planted with soft Mushroom corals or Florida ZoeAnthids will be an attractive piece at the end of your dock - on the side of your dock you don't use - somewhere in the seating area of your "T-dock". This gives you an attractive addition to your dock and at the same time helps the environment in that not only do the corals in the tank help the water, as the corals grow and propogate; the smaller polyps will go into the waterway and therefore help to repopulate  Florida waters to where our children or grand-children will one day see the nice, pretty waters some of us grew up with. Same situation with a seawall and niether are limited to one tank. If you use a pump big enough for one tank, you can daisy chain as many of the same size tanks together as you like and make a very attractive partition wall with tons of life to look at for years to come.

        Now you may ask "What about algea?" Correct it does grow but there are 2 ways you can handle it:

       1 the magnetic tank cleaners from the pet stores and about 15 minutes every other month per tank cleaning time

      or:

       2 put in Malaysian Snails,  Cerith snails, other snails, reef friendly Urchins and of course good old fashioned Ghost Shrimp and let them do the cleanup work for you!

       Now in the situation where you dont have a seawall or a dock but still want to help the environment and your property value at the same time, put in a low underwater rock wall with loose rocks made from any of the porous type rocks I have mentioned above. Same procedure, only you will want to make it to where it is attractive to look at - perhaps shapes and caves, perhaps visible from your seating area. That is up to you to decide.

       If you own a marina there are a couple of different ways you can help.

      Probably the best way is to take the old bait tanks you quit using and put them back online. Make sure they are pumping water in from the basin or waterway and that the outflow is directly going back in the water (not over the rocks and down as we have seen a lot of you do).

        Remove Permanently the lids from the tanks. Now fill the bottom with 8-10 inches of just plain old silica sand or beach sand. add in a few fossilized coral or limestone rocks. Go on Ebay and buy native Florida species corals - Florida Ricordia Mushrooms are generally there chaep enough and 50 is more than enough to get you started. Put the corals in the tank and just spend the 20 bucks a month or so on electric. What will happen is that as the corals grow and propogate, there will be loose young polyps that will go through your outflow and propogate in your basin or waterway.

        If you are starting to wonder how this helps you - the answers are simple:

    1.  Within a year or so you will have an attactive basin that people will like to look at. In the marina business attraction is everything and we all know that. The soft corals are generally filter feeders and will help clear up at least your basins water making it far more attractive to your patrons.  The first thing they will notice is that what is in the water is "pretty" this is accomplished subliminally and without breaking any laws...encourages them to be in the water - sells more gas and parts for you. Word of mouth gets around.

    2. You can have crappy buildings - people will notice the water and think it is quaint that you have "authentic old Florida" buildings - clean water with pretty, soft corals goes a long way towards making your flaws less noticeable.

    3. If you have people at your tables/resturaunt, even just hanging around the dock, once the old guys figure out what you are up to, they will help by vocalizing even more. In todays "Eco-conscious" world, this will give you a lot higher standing in not just the boating community but in your local area as well.

        Want to take it a step further? Want to make it really pay off for both you and the environment? Read on.....

        Put up say a large 4'x4'x8' (1100 gallon) tank as a display and a couple of 2' tall long tanks, anywhere along your seawall or docks where your customers can see them.

       Put in a good, thick layer of sand and some cheap chunks of good old fashioned Alabama Limestone.

       Make sure the tanks are acrilyc or carbonized lexan (under 2 grand for 1 large and the 2 shallow tanks) .

       Get out your color printer and put up a poster of Florida Soft corals that people can gather readily from beach wash up. Explain on the poster that you are rescuing the Corals to re-populate our waterways and therefore make Florida beautiful again.

        As people bring in the injured corals, get pictures of which ones heal well, and don't let them add sea Squirts (put a note that those should just be returned to the water or they will over-run your system) Update the poster as you go along.

         Make a contest out of it - even offer prizes for the biggest or rarest - perhaps add labels to the big tank representing which person or team brought in which one - folks love recognition.

        Again you are recieving the same benefits to the environment and your business as mentioned above but you have just cranked up the fuel and part sales to the next level (albeit sporadically as partcipation does vary). Plus you have the added benefit of an extra attraction for your resturaunt/bar on the water. People love contests even if the prize is worth less than 5 bucks, they will spend thousands just to win - it is human nature. In this scenario you have engaged participation which makes them feel like they are a part of the marina and that will instill long-lasting customer loyalty which pays off  nicely in the long term.

        If you are looking for short term instant gratification, order in a couple of thousand Florida Species Soft Corals from Ebay or your favorite vendor and plant them in your basin.     Tims Evil Mind

    Everyone knows I do Bio Ponds and Coral Gardens for folks. Well Occasionally I need to move plants from one to another as one gets overgrown or people are willing to donate starter plants for new ponds.

       This evening as Tim and I had checked on one of the newest ponds I designed at a private residence in a town just South of Venice (but not too far). We had our buckets along with several excellent specimens of Cabomba, Wisteria, Brazilllian Sword Grass and Anachris as well as a couple of buckets of various tropical fish.

        Now bear in mind this is a rather large pond...approximately 7 acres and really nicely done if I may toot my own horn. Rock outcroppings, plenty of flow, nice pea gravel bottom with full diamondbrite over hydraulic cement instead of some cheesy liner. The landscapers did an excellent job of arranging the plants and picnic area around the pond too.

        Anyway Tim and I pulled up and parked on the tennis court so we would not have to carry the buckets more than a few feet.

        Well there were some ladies swimming in the pond...Skinny dipping. Now I was being polite and turned away to give them their due privacy... I told them not to worry, we were not there to bother them and we could come back and do what we need to do tomorrow. About this time Tim Grabs 2 buckets of the fish from the back of the car and dumping them in said...."We're just here to feed the gator - I'm just gonna dump in these 2 buckets for the night and we'll give him the rest tomorrow"

       Until this evening I did not know the new cell phone we bought him had a camera in it - Video even picked up the screams as the ladies were leaving the pond in a very rapid manner.........Gotta give that boy credit - he has a truly evil mind.

    Those Durn Mermaids

    2008 Tidewater 1900 BayMax Yamaha 115TXR 4-stroke

       Feel the need to feed the Mangrove Snapper or the Redfish some shrimp? Not a problem at all.. This Tidewater 1900 Bay Max has a 12 gallon live well up in front of the console and there is a 30 gallon livewell aft. Both are easy to get to and have excellent aerators that kept 40 dozen shrimp alive no problem when we ran one of these boats out. These are some excellent live wells on the Tidewater 1900 Bay Max. The layout of these livewells makes sense too. There is a 12 gallon well up front that is perfectly accessible to the person fishing the bow platform while the 30 gallon at the rear is nicely located to where the person fishing the back can get to it without having to risk falling overboard if it happens to be a little rough out in the gulf that day.

       Now there is the really nice thing about this Tidewater 1900 BayMax... It can handle the gulf without banging you around or spilling your frosty beverages on those days when it is a little rough. Handling these boats in moderate swells is a dream, the one we ran out had only a prop as a difference from the stock Tidewater 1900 Bay Max with the Yamaha 115hp 4 Stroke Outboard. Our gas mileage was a little better than what Tidewater got too. But back to running her out, this is a really high flotation hull that handles 18" to 2ft swells like a dream come true, not a bounce nor a bang when we ran one out. Granted we were only running about 22 or so but we never even spilled our frosty beverages. This is one smooth running boat.

       Back in the bays there are few rivals to the Tidewater Bay Max family of boats and most of those are skiffs or dedicated, purpose built shallows work boats. This 1900 is no exception to that rule. Able to get into less than a foot of water without problems. The transom is pitched perfect so that when you trim up that Yamaha out back the prop angle is prime for shallows wandering without having the exhaust out of the water. Another neat thing about the transom design that I don't think most folks notice but is handier than all get out is this: Standing at the console it is perfectly easy for even a 5'2" woman to see down and directly in front of the bow of the boat. The windscreen is excellent for cutting the glare from the water and the location of the console was chosen because it balances the boat best. with 2 guys at the console seat, you can worm this boat into 8 inches of water no problem. Got the cooler loaded? not a problem, make it 8 and a half inches. The one we ran out had those little Trim tab mounted trolling motors. That made for some slick shallows wandering with the main engine trimmed all the way up One of the things I would definitely add to this boat if I was getting it.

       Now on those days when you have to switch tackle lot because you are using hooks in the morning and losing lures all afternoon, this is a slick little boat for that too - there are rod holders all over the place and even a dedicated rod storage compartment in the side But the best point is that there are 2 compartments up front with tackle trays that slide in and out easily. These make rigging for the day sweet and re-rigging you line a whole lot sweeter when you are out there. Heck, just plop down on the back edge of the forward fish platform and reach- that's right reach both compartments easily. Makes for a lot nicer fishing experience than fighting some tackle box and unlike a lot of other boat manufacturers, someone took the time with these little boats to figure out just the perfect location to where even a kid could get to both compartments.

       That fighting deck out front is a slick setup in itself, there is rough paint on it that will not let you slip when it is wet and for fighting the big ones, it has that trademark tidewater recessed V Fighting Platform that is becoming the thing to have. Pretty sure there is a reason for it too. When you get a big fish on, there is no more worry about tying yourself off (unless it is gigantoid), just dig a foot up against the V's edge anywhere and the boat is light enough that we just let the fish drag us on the one we tried and did not even bother with the chase it with the motor thing. For reference we only had 100lb test on and the biggest we caught that day was a 127lb Tarpon. We had the engine idling in neutral - no need to use it; the drag on our reels was cranked in tight and the line was not about to break with a boat this light and clean moving to work from.

        For trolling these boats are set up good for the single person or 2 people to work it. there are rod holders all over the boat but the 2 in the rear gun whales are angled just perfect for setting a rod in and not having to worry about the fish ripping it out of the holder. Set the rod in with the reel facing forward and you are dug in perfect and it will catch your crank just right to where the drag is all that will be happening when you get one on. Another neat thing that Tidewater thought of is the location of these rod holders....easy to get to from either side of the console seat, nice, wide clear path to the front fighting platform or just grab it and work it from the rear fighting deck.  No hassles to get to, reel is perfectly located to where it is just a hair below waist level when you go to grab it - means you can work a big fish quick and not have to hassle struggling to get it out. The holders on the side of the console (there are 6 of them) make for handy storage for all the rods you need when you go out for a day of mixed fishing and you have to switch from light to heavy rods or vice-versa. I probably would not use them for trolling though as they are not meant for it like the rear ones are. Real nice though with plumbed drains out the bottom so you wont mess up your batteries and gear under the console. Even the cupholders have plumbed drains.

       Even running these Tidewater bay Max 1900's out in the intercoastal is a pretty durn good boating experience. As long as you keep her down around the speed limits in the inter coastal, she will just cut through the wakes of all but the biggest boats without the slam and bang like you get from most boats in this class.  This boat cuts the wakes like a hot knife through butter. The Yamaha 115 4 stroker behind her doesn't make a whole bunch of noise so it is easy to get her up and running around 40 or so if you don't watch your instruments.

        A quiet boat like this one is not a bad thing either. At 25 or 30 or so You are able to hold a normal conversation in the bow seating area as are you able to do the same behind the console and at the rear seating areas. At "No Wake" speeds the boat is quiet enough you can just talk, from one end of the boat to the other; without all the having to just give up talking like you have to do on a lot of other boats. The reason for this, whether or not it was Tidewaters intention or not, is that the transom area is basically a large, sound absorbing box. Even with a monster 2stroker behind one of these, the effect of the box is to reduce the sound getting into the seating area and such. The guy who works the rear platform while trolling will actually notice the difference in level of engine noise from being on the platform to being back down in the boat - there is a very noticeable difference in volume. It makes for a better day when you are able to talk without having to raise your voice or just plain having to repeat yourself all the time.

    Tidewater 1800 Bay Max

    Are you Wanting a Boat that is Just plain ready to go Kick Some Bass? This Tidewater 1800 Bay Max was fitted for it right from the get go. With a Yamaha 90 outboard hanging off the back of this boat it is Economical to run and that 40 gallon tank she has is enough to run the whole weekend with enough for a quick day during the week too.         Sure she has all the cushions for those days when you want to take the family out to the beach and Yes there is enough power you can get the kids up on the ski's or drag water toys all day long. Heck there is even a swim platform out back that makes it easy for the kids to get in and out of the water. But; lets get back to what this boat was meant for, put the cushions in the back of the truck or better the garage and save them for the days when you aint got a choice but to  take the family. Meantime lets get back to this boats real Purpose in life......

       She was built from the beginning to go out and Kick Some Bass...  Trim that engine up and she makes for a flats boat that will get in places previously only the territory of skiffs... With only 8" of draft loaded  she has no problem wandering your favorite grass flat or weed bed. She is equipped with a live well that is easy to get to, roomy enough to be at home on a much larger boat yet integrated into this hull design in such a way that everything fits nice and makes sense. Now Add in a second of these livewells, Yup that is right this Little Bass Kicker has 2 Livewells built into her.  Now these livewells are equipped with Automatic Aerators but for those days when you need to carry plenty of bait someone had the good sense to just add that constant on switch right in there too. That brings up another good point of this boat, she has the regular 2 batteries in the back and there is a switch of course so you can run the livewells and stereo all day without worrying about starting when it is time to go home. Now you might be thinking that this would make it hard to run a trolling motor but they even covered that too... Right under the console is where you put your trolling motor battery Already rigged out for you - Just add battery! (If you ask the sales guy real nice they might even put the battery in for you - and Ed in Parts can fix you up with some of those slick little trim tab mount trolling motors so you don't have to have a trolling motor getting in the way of your line out front. They are about the same cost as a regular trolling motor and way less hassles).

       Price wise these boats are about the best deal going. Hulls that will be around after you have passed them down to your grand-kids. These boats are built strong, well and are A prime example of what an American manufacturer can do when they throw the accountants out and just start building quality! From Stem to Stern these boats are made to take a lifetime of running under harsh conditions. Marine Dynamics did not rig it (nor in any way would they) but I know of one that has a big Yamaha 300 2 stroker  on the back and runs to and from Boats out in the Gulf Almost daily at speeds that Tidewater never intended - not a stress crack or hairline anywhere and this was done with no Transom reinforcement other than a piece of Angle Aluminum on the inside of the transom (and 4 extra bolts) Guy running it ain't no slouch on the throttle either that poor boat gets hammered every day and takes it like it was built to take more. For your dollar you are not going to find too many hulls out there that are built this well for less than about twice the price.

    An elderly man in an old Aluminium boat with a 3 horse Yamaha Outboard pulls up alongside a new 2008 Tidewater 1900 with a Yamaha 300hp outboard hanging off the back.

    Looking about 100 years old, he got to running alongside a redneck in the No Wake Zone South of Englewood Just before the Boca Grande Swing Bridge

    The old man looks over at the sleek shiny new Tidewater Baymax
    And asks, ' What kind of boat ya got there, sonny ?'
    The redneck replies, ' A Tidewater Boats 1900 BayMax. Got it Pretty reasonable 43 grand with the engine from Marine Dynamics Up in Englewood! '
    ' That's a lot of money,' says the old man. ' Why does it cost so much?'

    ' Because this boat can do up to 80 miles an hour ! and still get into the skinny water right with your little Jon-Boat ' States the redneck proudly.
    The old man in the aluminium boat asks, 'Mind if I take a look at her ?'
    ' No problem,' replies the redneck.
    So the old man throws out a fender, loops a dockline, hops aboard  And looks around. Then, sitting back in his aluminium boat, the old man says, ' That's a pretty nice boat, all right...  But I'll stick with my aluminium boat!'
    Just then they passed the "Resume Safe Normal Operation" sign, So the redneck decides to show The old man just what his boat can do.  He gooses it just a touch, and within 10 seconds he was up on plane and running about 20.
    Suddenly, he notices a dot In his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting closer !

    He slows down to see what it could be And suddenly WHOOOOSSSHHH !
    Something whips by him going much faster !
    ' What on earth could be going faster than my Tidewater ?' the redneck asks himself.
    He shoves the throttle a little further forward And takes the Tidewater up to 40 mph.
    Then, up ahead of him, He sees that it's the old man on the aluminium boat !
    Amazed that the aluminium boat could pass his Tidewater, He gives it more gas
    And passes the aluminium boat at 65 mph And he's feeling pretty good until he looks in  his
    Mirror and sees the old man gaining on him AGAIN !
    Astounded by the speed of this old guy, He floors the gas pedal and takes the Tidewater
    All the way up to 82 mph.
    Not ten seconds later, he sees the aluminium boat Bearing down on him again !
    The Tidewater is flat out, And there's nothing he can do !
    Suddenly, the aluminium boat plows Into the back of his Tidewater, Demolishing the Front of the old guys boat.
    The redneck stops and jumps out and unbelievably The old man is still alive.
    He jumps in, gets the banged up old guy out of the water and says, ' I'm a doctor.... Is there anything I can do for you ?'
    The old man whispers,
    ' Unhook the bungee I use for a dockline from your cleat '.

    What Is A Yacht

    By dictionary definition "A Yacht is a boat used exclusively for pleasure" Now Ok that one is true but in reality there is much more to it than that. A boat is only a yacht when she has a certain Dignity, Style, Polish and Class. Now to be clear when I say class I don't mean that it is of a certain size range or price range. Those things have little to do with attaining the Stature of a Yacht. Take for instance I have looked at many a WellCraft 2800 Coastal At Marine Dynamics in Englewood, Florida and Small 21ft Proline boats with Nothing more than a good sized Cuddy/V-berth that by far outshone boats of much greater sizes.

         Many times I have been fascinated, even absorbed in thoughts of the possibilities presented by yachts costing far less than one engine or prop on some of the overpriced mega-yacht frou frou mutts I see in some of the shipyards and other marinas in the area.

        Continuing on a sheer definition basis We can infer that a yacht can be a cruiser, offshore racer, a flats boat, Heck even a skiff. She may be built of any material be it Wood, Fiberglass, Metal and is not specific to any particular hull type or whether she uses sheets or engines. She can be of any age or vintage, built in any year from this one back to any point in the history of the world. There is no prerequisite for a bunch of fancy gear, brightwork or fluffy berths. In fact it is perfectly acceptable for her to not have any of these things at all if it is in the nature of her character or the intended use of her Mistress or Master.

         She does not have to belong to a yacht club. For there is no Club that can make a yacht. nor is there a builder or manufacturer capable of making a yacht no matter what they may claim.

        It is the individual boats Mistress or Master who makes a yacht out of a boat or for the purposes of definition makes a boat out of a yacht.

        The commonality between a boat and a yacht aside from the obvious ability to float is the unique ability to reflect the attitude of her Mistress or Master. In no way is it a reflection of the owners level of income... Indeed I know many a rich person who are happy with a 13ft Boston Whaler and by the same token I know many a lower income person who is over-financed on some monster cruiser. A yacht represents the owners degree of fortitude, level of endurance, attention to those details required for meeting those tasks the owner intends the yacht to perform and yes even the desire for beauty or respect for nature in things produced through human effort. A yacht is the mirror to that which her Mistress or Master enjoys about her.

       A yacht announces to those who view her that her owner is proud of her. Her appearance is not always important as there are those owners who enjoy a good powertrain far more than all the looks in the world. She is a reflection of those things important to the owner whether it be catering to her appearance or attending to her health. In those aspects important to the owner she is never neglected, abused or treated with disrespect if her owner can at all help it.

        A true Yacht stands out among boats wherever she may be. Even a workboat when used solely for pleasure sets an example for all those around her. But never does a yacht stick up her nose nor is she ever rude in her ways, she is a lady at all times. Never swamping lesser yachts or even boats because respect for other yachters and boaters is a basic part of being a true lady of the water.

        A yacht no matter how large or small,; no matter how old or new...Tells who we are and what we are about. Caring owners and  loving friends. She is the waterborne extension of her mistress or master. Be her a bathtub with an engine or a four hundred foot cruising vessel..... When you are choosing yours, you will not just know it....No no one can tell you this is your yacht to be..... It is a deep inner feeling from the moment you start putting her together or that instant feeling of attraction to her when you see her in a dealers lot that grows to a wonderment and love of her. You just know when you see her in the marina or cut that first piece of material for her that she is an extension of your very being.

    Velocity 30 - Diesel Conversion candidate

     

    OK so i am digging around looking for a good candidate for a pair of 30 horse Yanmar marine diesels i have laying around and while I was looking, I noticed this gem in the back of Marine Dynamics in their Englewood, Florida yard.

          Granted this is not a good candidate for my 2 engines but the price is reasonable enough that it would make an excellent candidate for a couple of other diesels that could be picked up cheaply enough. So Naturaully even though I wont buy it because i have too many projects going already. I had to get the props turning in my head and see what would be easy to do for a hardcore offshore racing vessel that would get pretty good fuel economy.

      So since the outdrives and engines have already been removed down to nothing but the gimbals, lets operate on the thought of using beefy Merc W3 outdrives. Accept no substitutes - this boat deserves it. Now this is an 89 model boat that someone had started to have a lot of work done on and stopped for reasons of moola, The interior, paint and all the seats are in really good shape, sitting at the helm is not as respectable as say a Wellcraft Scarab but it gives you a feel of comfort and solid control. My old 91 handled like a knife, bit twitchy, not the razor-sharp smooth of a Scarab but not a sloppy hog like a Defever or a Donzi either. In her class, Velocity has not made a vessel that handles this well since the early 90's. So rather than elaborate on that, this is the Velocity the drug runners look for when they just cant afford a Wellcraft Scarab. It is a light, well laid out hull that can be hollowed out quickly for offshore racing. The guys running the Bahamas on a regular basis seem to prefer these for reason of when equipped with a couple of GM diesels they can generally make the trip in comfort, on very little fuel compared to a Scarab with triple outboards. Me I cant stand a damn GM piece of crap diesel ('cept a few older Detroits) so let us get on with some cheap engine options.

        Now I have never been the buy a new engine for an old boat type of person. So I made a couple of calls just to see what was in our local junkyards that they would guarantee me would turn over... Glicks in Sarasota had a Ford 7.3l (444Cubic inch) out of a truck for 1500 bucks - guaranteed to start. Had to look in the newspaper but I found a 1 ton van with another 7.3l diesel for 3500 bucks (probably could talk them down but this was just a mental excersise anyway). Ok so thats 5 grand in engines that i could stick in but hey a couple of used outdrives are going to run into some cash too, plus you are going to have to add in some of the nice heat exchangers - you know the flush mount aluminium ones to cool them because raw water cooling is not a viable option in saltwater. Risers are cheap enough. sot that puts the entire engine and outdrive budget at around 15000 bucks and in the end you have a 70,000 dollar boat that will top around 85-90mph on about 10 gallons an hour. Kick in another 4 grand for Banks Turbos and you are back at 100mph on about 7.5 to 8 gallons an hour. Keep the speed down around 40-45 and you are sipping 3.1-3.8 gallons an hour  - I have seen this firsthand in a '90 model velocity that had a pair of 7.3's with turbos.

         But what about other options, say you wanted to do it right - OK crate 7.3's are going to run you somewhere in the 8000 dollar range (apiece) definitely worth the investment since they will still be going long after you are not.

        Nissan inline 6 Marine Diesels - keep them down around 150 horse apiece (that would be the same prop turning torque as 450 horse apiece if you went with gas engines) and you can throw 60-70mph no prob at all and the 120 horse Nissan Turbo diesel when turned up to a 150 (remember to crank the fuel to the injectors just a touch and only 2psi extra on the wastegate pop-off)pulls a whopping 2.7 gallons per hour (each) at 85% load - heck that is better mileage than my old truck! (remember this thing has some big tanks - we are talking Tamalipas, Mexico range here - no sweat at all.

         Could go with Iveco Marine diesels. Crank things up a whole lot too - a pair of inline 6 Iveco's throwing 200 horses apiece should set you back about 35000. have to stretch the engine cowl 4 inches to get tehm in there but you are back to a torque monster boat that will hit the 90mph mark no probs while at the same time only sucking down 7.1 gallons an hour total. back them off to loafing speed and you are cruising 40mph on maybe 3 gallons an hour total (could not find a complete enough performance chart to work all the math on the Iveco's working from numbers from an industrial hydraulic pump application) Now that is full gulf range - shoot to the bahamas for about the cost of driving your truck to Atlanta from Venice, FL. Cayman runner - Not a prob.

        Now as an intellectual exersize I did use real numbers based on power (torque output) of the original engines vs speed in this hull - compared the torque output to the diesels vs fuel consumption at given torque. I rarely get the math wrong. So what we have here is a little hotrod boat that one could concieveably put together in a couple of weekends for far less than throwing in gas engines and would get way better fuel economy.. light enough to trailer. Hardcore enough to run offshore and with range to wander the Islands or the gulf without worrying about the fuel running out before you get there (diesel is way cheaper when you top off in Mexico too).

        As a real world application I am seeing more and more Island runners converting to diesels because they are reliable, dependable and cost a lot less to run both in fuel and in parts. Of course I see a lot of guys buying these hulls, glassing in the back, adding a stinger tail and triple outboards too - but those guys always seem to be having some sort of work done on their boat while the diesel guys are out enjoying the water!

       This hull is for sale at Marine Dynamics in Englewood, Florida Call Mark at 941-716-4200 for a price - probably under 15 thousand or so .........less if you wave actual cash under their noses!

    Definitions

    Guts and Balls -
    We've all heard about people having guts or balls. But do you really
    know the difference between them? In an effort to keep you informed, the
    definition for each is listed below...
    GUTS - is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met
    by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: "Are you still
    cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?"
    BALLS - is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling

    National “DNA warehouse” bill passes

    Passing the House of Representatives on a voice vote, S. 1858 has been sent to President Bush for signature. The Newborn Genetic Screening bill was passed by the Senate last December.



    The bill violates the U.S.



    Constitution and the Nuremberg Code, writes Twila Brase, president of the Citizen’s Council on Health Care (CCHC).



    “The DNA taken at birth from every citizen is essentially owned by the government, and every citizen becomes a potential subject of government-sponsored genetic research,” she states. “It does not require consent and there are no requirements to inform parents about the warehousing of their child’s DNA for the purpose of genetic research. Already, in Minnesota, the state health department reports that 42,210 children of the 780,000 whose DNA is housed in the Minnesota ‘DNA warehouse’ have been subjected to genetic research without their parents’ knowledge or consent.




    The federal government lacks the Constitutional authority as well as the competence to develop a newborn screening program, states Rep. Ron Paul, M.D. (R-TX). He states that all hospitals will probably scrap their own newborn testing program and adopt the federal model, whatever its flaws, to avoid the loss of federal funding.




    “Drafters of the legislation made no effort to ensure that these newborn screening programs do not violate the privacy rights of parents and children,” Dr. Paul noted.





    Ms. Brase has called on President Bush to veto the bill.

    Redneck Boating

    OK so i am now setting up a new site for Marine Dynamics Of Englewood, FL and it will be redneck boating.com which we intend to have absolute fun with. Now to keep the marina happy we have to have http://www.redneckboating.com/yamaha_parts which is the storage for all the static pages we use to keep 278000 yamaha parts available to the guy with the p1 running win/95 in 32mb of ram. (so they can buy parts too).

       OK so what I am wanting to do is make it a forum limited to workboats, boats that rednecks made and I want to have fun with it doing all sorts of other things but am out of ideas - ya'all got some ideas that would be fun or funny holler at me at dawino6260@verizon.net and I will be glad to consider any suggestions
